Default First Images From The Japanese Remake Of Unforgiven

The Japanese remake of Unforgiven demonstrates, once again, how the flow between Old West frontier drama and Samurai stories can go both ways.

Lee Sang-il?s Yurusarezarumono was announced a few months bank and we now have some images of the cast in character, and a little of the filming going on.

Clint Eastwood worked with Ken Watanabe on Sands of Iwo Jimo; now, they'll have played essentially the same role in movies. Akira Emoto has taken on the role Morgan Freeman played in the original, and Koichi Sato has picked up from Gene Hackman. The action has been transferred to Hokkaido near the start of the Meiji period.

David Webb Peoples' original screenplay for Unforgiven was very precise and well written, and I can only hope the new script is as strong.

Note that Warner Bros. are behind both the original and this remake. What took them so long?

Thanks to DVD Prime and Filmsmash for the images.
