Default Play This Teaser Clip For Jessica Biel's The Tall Man With The Volume Turned Down

There's not yet been a trailer for The Tall Man, but here's the first teaser, of sorts. You'll not want to listen to the soundtrack, though. It's horrifying.

That's Jessica Biel starring, and you may have recognised Jodelle Ferland from Tideland or Silent Hill, though she's grown up a good deal. The film is director Pascal Laugier's follow up to Martyrs, and it will be playing in Berlin and at SXSW. I wish I could be at one of those places to see it - I've been looking forward to this one for a long time.

I don't know if you've seen Martyrs but, honestly, it's one of the most remarkable films in a very long time. Not to give too much away, it's the story of some horrendous experimentation, if it can even be called that, and its victims. I've never been left quite as shell shocked as I was by that film.

Here's hoping that the Tall Man allows Laugier to show the same facility with plot, image, suspense, tension and deeply affecting concepts.

Thanks to Quiet Earth for finding that clip and, by the looks of things, editing it out of some sort of SXSW promo reel.

Between this and the semi Epic Beard Man movie, I'm weirded out by movies that mimic internet folklore. This bares an uncanny resemblance to the Something Awful forums ghost story and internet augmented reality game / forum chatter known as Marble Hornets aka Slender Man.

    I'm so confused.

Is this Martyr film really worth the effort?
And then, subsequently, this Tall Man film?
Stop telling me how things should be, I'm just some cunt on the internet.
Get up, move to a table without the internet, and do something about changing it.

That is exactly what i was thinking, especially as ages ago there was a movie pic posted on here that looked very like the Slender Man, which i can only assume comes from this film
