There are multiple video game worlds in the next Disney toon, Wreck-It Ralph, from a Halo-esque alien landscape, to the colourful landscape made of candy that forms the playing field of the Mario Kart-inspired Sugar Rush.
And then there's the sad, lonely apartment block where Wreck-It Ralph plays the role of destructive villain, smashing windows and hurling huge chunks of masonry at his own little Jumpman, Fix-It Felix.
New images of these three worlds have arrived online at the Spanish site Cine Premiere (thanks to Animate for the link). You can just see the gameplay styles in the first and last, but the aerial view of Sugar Rush looks as much like a 3D platformer as a racing game.
And that's Ralph you can see, looking at the apartment block that binds him.

Could the tie-in video game possibly look this good? Are they even going to stop at one tie-in game?
The film is being directed by Rich Moore, a Simpsons and Futurama alum. Wreck-It Ralph himself is being voiced by John C. Reilly, with Jack McBrayer as Fix-It Felix, Jane Lynch as a commander in the shoot 'em up Hero's Duty, and Sarah Silverman as a kart racer in Sugar Rush.
One of my most keenly anticipated films of the year, Wreck-It Ralph will be with us in the Autumn. I'll start piling up my quarters now.
