Default Set Shots And Gun Shots From Dredd

Courtesy of Karl Urban Kiwi, a few set shots of the big man. And his helmet.

The helmet still looks way too big. Doesn't look like there's much movement in the costume either, judging by the stiffness of the poses, but perhaps that's just these photos.

Urban's got a good scowl, it's no Stalone scowl but satisfying. by the looks of things his helmet is on most of the time, so Yay

Dunno, by the looks of things Urban is winning the Dredd look-a-like contest:

    Stallone just looks smug.

well it's a close call, Stallone has the costume, Urban by all accounts has the face and his helmet - though big - is the right shape and design. But Urban's Judge Dredd is far more threatening than Stallone, just because he looks less goofy because they went with a more realistic look.

it's a close call man... but I'll agree with ya

Stallone's is really a superficial similarity made of the wrong materials whereas the Urban uniform feels like Ezquerra's original distilled to its essence.

    That helmet is f'n huge.

And I have to put myself in the Stallone camp where the better costume lies. Too bad that movie was trash otherwise.

How anyone can look at that ludicrous bloody codpiece and say the Stallone costume is superior is beyond me. To be fair, given that Urban's helmet makes him look a bit like a kid playing dress up, it's certainly the lesser of two evils.
