Default Extended Trailer For Awake - A New TV Show That Looks, Frankly, Brilliant

Kyle Killen's Awake finally has a premiere date of Thursday March 1st, when it will be airing on NBC at 10pm. I've got a feeling that's not the easiest slot, so I hope folks make an effort to catch it.

Killen wrote the script for The Beaver, which I still consider one of the finest screenplays I've ever read, no matter how compromised some elements of the completed film may have been. He also created Lone Star, an abruptly terminated TV show from a couple of years back. He's certainly a very accomplished writer.

And the premise he's come up with this time is a real doozy. If you haven't been tracking the show so far, let this new trailer introduce the set-up to you:

Yep - it's that intriguing and it's got Jason Isaacs in it? What else could you possibly have to do at 10pm on a Thursday that beats that>

I'm so glad that it finally has a premiere date. Been looking forwards since I watched a trailer last year. Yeah, that damn Thursday slot is cursed with nothing good being on there since E.R. ended.

All NBC needs to do is get Community back on Thursdays and they can become Must See TV again.

That looks very interesting. Is it a standard 20 something episode length season? I wonder if it's the kind of concept that could get over stretched.

I'm looking forward to seeing it. Can anyone tell me the name of the song being used? Sounds like Coldplay to me, but I don't recognize it.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that it's actually Jason Isaac's character who is dead.

The show looks really good, and I've been looking forward to it since I first heard about it. My only worry is that it's more of a "premise" than a plot. Once you accept that he has two realities, and that he's not willing to lose either of them, doesn't the show just become a quirky police procedural?

It looks amazing - so I'm afraid of it as a network show. Let's be honest American broadcast channels don't really match our cable channels in quality dramas at all. Still going to give it a watch because it looks very, very original. It's up there with Life on Mars in my mind as just great intriguing ideas.

I would assume with a March premiere it's first season will be 13 episodes only. It's becoming much more common for network drama's first seasons.
