Default Superbowl Trailer For Act Of Valor

I don't think I can tell you what Hannah thought of Act of Valor yet, but just you wait for that embargo to lift...

Here's the new Superbowl trailer for the film, which makes it pretty clear what we're dealing with here. This isn't just a throwaway action film, it has a deeper agenda.

To me that this is supposedly made by actual Navy Seals is just awesome. The previews I've seen- not just here- have this realism to it that I think will really sell to viewers.

If I had to guess, she will review it in some snarky way whether she loved it or hated it.

Hard to tell much about the plot from the trailer but I am very intrigued. The fact that they use some active duty military really seems interesting. This probably makes the rare cut for a movie I will see in the theater.

I expect this movie to make a lot of money for an R rated film.

It amazes me that in the post 9/11 years it took until 2012 for us to get another pro-American military action flick (unless I'm forgetting something inbetween) after Black Hawk Down.

Yeah, the hook for me is that it won't be another two hours of Hollywood making up as much shit as they want.

As for how horrified Brendon is that the USAF is producing a pro-USAF film for the public: I see his point. Yeah, it's propaganda, and as little as I mind this particular push, what if it's very successful and the government wholly jumps into the movie business and other programs? I can definitely see myself quickly becoming very uncomfortable with that.
