So far, we've been focusing on the new ideas in the Evil Dead redux, but what the first image from the shoot's New Zealand location reminds us is that it's a remake, not a total reinvention. There's still going to be a cabin, some Deadites and lots of Evil, all down in the woods.
Director Fede Alaverez tweeted the following image, calling it "the path to hell":

If you know Raimi's film well, you'll recall a path just like that. Of course, I also recall a path like that from walking my dog. And from a school orienteering trip. And from that I time I went on a Winnie the Pooh press trip.
Alvarez has also been tweeting a series of interesting little facts about the film. Here they are, to date:?@
TheEmptyBones: Are you guys close to finding a replacement for Lily?" she was never officially in, so no replacements

bawkz: Will the remake contain elements of Three Stooges shorts in it? That's Sam's style, not mine...

bawkz: How will Ichi the Killer inspire the movie? The gore and the violence I guess...

So less stooging, Ichi gore and violence and a chainsaw. Because, let's face it, a trailer can only confirm what is in a film, not what is not.
