Default Can You Guess Which Movie Franchise This Superbowl Ad Suddenly And Inexplicably Crashes Into?

I don't get it. I didn't see it coming, and I didn't understand it after it happened.

Well, it's got people talking. And blogging.

It's almost like that franchise is being shoe-horned into ads left right and centre for some reason...

Tsk. I fell for it. Silly Brendon.

    "the dog strikes back"
    It's VW commercial.

    So it's star wars, right?

Complaining that George Lucas left any creative credibility and just sells products now is as tired as arguing that Newt Gingrich doesn't stands up for faithful marriage and support the poor and downtrodden.

It's really two commercials in one, isn't it? I can almost guarantee that after the superbowl we'll see this airing as two different spots.

You have to see last year's VW Super Bowl commercial to fully understand (link below). The "dog" ad is the sequel. The patrons at the bar are arguing as to which commercial is better, thus Darth Vader's reaction. Hope this helps!

Its a sequel of sorts to last year's Volkswagen Super Bowl ad which starred the Vader Kid.

I have to say that seeing the ubiquitous of Star Wars on adverts atm is whetting my appetite for Star Wars: Underworld.

Okay, yeah. I guess you can rail against the cheapness of using SW in adverts but I can't imagine they did those effects on a massive budget so I see it as trial runs for producing a cost effective TV series.

Also, the money from the ads could well be an intentional source of funding to get the TV series made.

I think it would have been much better without the Star Wars stuff tacked on the end. I thought the dog stuff was great and Star Wars I couldn't give a crap about.
