Stallone And Schwarzenegger Teaming Up To Explore The Tomb

The first star to be publicly attached to The Tomb was Bruce Willis but, ultimately, he decided not to stick around, for whatever reason. Arnold Schwarzenegger was next to toy with the film before deciding to commit to The Last Stand instead, the Kim Ji Woon picture that he's wrapping up now.

And then Sylvester Stallone came along and, until now, he's remained committed. Looks like the producers are going to have their Planet Hollywood dream come true after all!

There doesn't appear to be a director in charge at the moment, but things really do seem to be moving ahead nonetheless. Aint It Cool are citing an unnamed "familiar voice" (the implication being that it's Stallone himself) in their report that Schwarzenegger has decided to come back to the project and take a different, supporting role.

So that's two thirds. At this point I'd bet you pretty much anything that Willis is going to make some kind of appearance, even if it's just a joke cameo on a magazine cover in a too-lingering close-up or something like that.

The screenplay, by Miles Chapman, packs a pretty high concept: Ray Breslin is an expert on the "structural security" of prisons. He gets framed and locked up in the highest security slammer going, and has to beat this unbeatable prison to discover and prove who framed him.

So, Schwarzenegger as the governor (ahem) and Willis as a Shawshank-style Rita Hayworth poster? I really wouldn't be surprised.
