It's not the Space Jockey's face, it's a kind of biomechanical helmet mask.

But here it is, in all of its glory.

The pictures were sent to Cinemart's Martyn Conterio by a chap he'd shared a few beers with. This fella apparently worked in the art department on Prometheus and is happy to run the risk of never getting another big gig like that again. It's bravery like this that makes the film blogosphere go round. Hats off to you, bold sir.

Ridley Scott is deep in post-production on Prometheus now. Thanks to in-camera FX and extensive sets he's only got CG up to the waist, not the neck.

We'll all get to see the fruits of everybody's labors come June.
