Default Two Preview Clips For Next Week's Sherlock Finale

    It's almost over already.

While most US TV shows get 20-some episodes a year, a lot of cable series and Dr. Who get 13 or so, much of UK output is pegged at 6 or 8 eight episodes per annum, poor old Sherlock stops at just three episodes per run, and there's not much chance of the series even being annual.

So, we should savour it while it lasts, perhaps indulge in some fannish anticipation all week. It's what we're good at.

Here are two promo-clips courtesy of the BBC. One seems to be an extended sequence from early in the episode, while the second is something original and features no footage from the show at all...

Sherlock in a courtroom? I can see the possibilities now. This could be a lot of fun.

Considering Cumberbatch has already done Tinker Tailer, War Horse, about to film The Hobbit and Star Trek with who knows what else in the pipeline, I suspect that next week's episode is for all intents the series finale. The only way this has a chance of being anywhere close to annual or even a formal season three is he and Martin Freeman (also doing the Hobbit) just enjoy doing the series to much to step away from it. While that possibility is practically unheard of in the States, entertainers in the UK seem more fan friendly and open to doing projects just for fun rather then pure greed that drives US stars.

Given the upcoming workloads of both and their profiles rising I suspect that if we do get more Sherlock it will be less frequent, or fewer each time, but I can live with that if the quality is as high.
