It's cruel and kind of funny and sort of accurate, but it would and could never happen in real life, thank god.

Here's a parody of Randy Newman singing a theme tune to the harrowing, emotionally draining We Need to Talk About Kevin. Be warned that the lyrics do refer to some key plot points, but unless you've seen the film or read Lionel Shriver's original book, some of the jokes won't work for you anyway.



It should be said that I'm actually a great admirer of Newman's work and really rate his soundtracks in everything from Ragtime to the Toy Story trilogy very highly. And it's certainly a matter of record round these parts that I was knocked sideways by Kevin.
