There's an almost Bond-ian scale to the globe trotting in Dante Lam's The Viral Factor, with the Netherlands, Jordan and Hong Kong all playing a part in the plot line. 007 would feel at home with all the gun play too, not to mention the reckless driving.

One of the stars of the film is Jay Chou, who made his US movie debut last year as Kato in The Green Hornet.

A new US trailer has been issued, but as you'll see from comparing the following two videos, it's just a cowardly cut-down of the Hong Kong original. That fear of foreign language films and subtitling rears its ugly head again.





Anyway, it's good to know the film will be in US cinemas this month. The editing looks a bit dodgy in places, but that might just be the trailer. At least we can also see the action unit have pulled off some nice work.
