Default Bryan Q Miller To Launch Smallville Season Eleven As A Novel

Smallville Season Ten ended as it always should have done. Clark Kent ripping the glasses from his face, pulling at his shirt, about to take flight from the top of the Daily PLanet. And that was that - aside from a bedtime story from Chloe to her son.

What happened next... well that wouldn't be part of Smallville would it?

    Or would it?

I understand that story editor and writer for the series, Bryan Q Miller, also recently of Batgirl until the DC Relaunch, is to write a new novel, tellling the story of what happened to the Smallville cast after the end of the TV series, in continuity. A Smallville Season Eleven, if you will. With Buffy The Vampire Slayer Season Eight and Nine doing so well in comic book form, this seems a rather natural move.

Whether there will be more novels, who else will write them, and whether or not they will appear in comic book form as well, I guess we'll wait until the official announcement to find out.

You could love or you could hate Smallville but there was something about the show that made it last 10 seasons.

But I always will remember as the DC super hero show that couldn't find a way to introduce Bruce Wayne - Batman to its continuity.

For which I'm eternally grateful for. He's already all over the map. Wonder Woman would have been a better choice...but I'm sort of glad she didn't make it either.

This is pretty much how I feel. Except BQM is writing it, that gives me hope.

And I did watch the show for 10 years.

BQM is great, but i doubt he could salvage the lame fest that was Smallville. I not being a Superman fan was open to be impressed, the first 3 seasons was good but it just got so silly. I suspect it only lasted this long due to merchandising and licensing.

I can't disagree with most of the criticism of the show... but I watched every episode. I don't know what it was about the show but it was bad and I still enjoyed it.

And I won't even kid myself. I'll be reading this book.

Seems like a smart move to appeal both to the comic and tv fan base. And because it's super powered prose, I'll probably end up reading it.

You can never have enough Batman in the media! We need another 4 or 5 comics Batman related, another cartoon, and please, reboot the Batman movie franchise (again).
