Default What If You Bought A Captain Marvel Comic In Which She Didn't Appear?

The last page of last month's Guardians Of The Galaxy #14.

The front cover of yesterday's Guardians Of The Galaxy #15.

    Solicited as:
With the entire galaxy gunning for the Guardians and Peter Quill missing, its time to bring in a little help. Captain Marvel JOINS the Guardians of the Galaxy! ? But where in the universe is Star-Lord? And what does his disappearance mean for the safety of earth?
    And inside?

No mention of Captain Marvel whatsoever.

Carol fans who picked it up because of the cover? Well... you've got a very nice cover.

    UPDATE: Brian Bendis writes,
I wholeheartedly apologize to those that find this completely annoying?

what happened was was that I had a pretty fantastic entrance for Capt. Marvel but took it out because I kind of like the hopelessness of the issue. I like that many of you have no idea how the guardians are going to get out of all of this.

I promise you she is in next issue and many issues to come and narrates the Guardian?s annual.

there is a fine century long tradition of things being on the cover that aren?t in the book and I gladly hold that tradition :-)

    You think that's bad?

This scene appears nowhere in the book! But it does appear continuously in my heart.

I could see if the book was solicited one way and changed for a fill-in issue, but that cover makes it seem pretty obvious she's supposed to be there. That sucks.

Or, more likely, a break down in communication? This presumably makes the book fully returnable, so folks who are disappointed (both at the retailer and individual customer level) should be able to get their money back.

that's likely true, but most shops have an 'all sales final' type of attitude with issues, regardless of if there was a screwup.

i didn't read this issue yet, but if true it's a pretty bad screwup.

Why is Johnny Thunder's Thunderbolt on the cover? Was he the lightning bolt that hit Barry in da nU52?

    Fuck you, Bendis.

But really, what can you expect from the same office that falsely solicited Neil Gaiman as co-writer on the 2nd arc of this series?

And the editor responsible for that was kicked upstairs in another corporate division!
