Default Moffat Sets Up Doctor Who Season Seven And A New Companion

(Welcome Facebook people... please tell us who has linked to us, because we're gettng massive traffc and we'd like to say thanks. And you can see more Bleeding Cool Doctor Who coverage here.)

The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra will tomorrow be playing The Doctor Who Symphonic Spectacular, described in their schedule as:
A musical celebration with the Doctor on the big screen and a host of live monsters including Daleks, Cybermen and The Silence invading the venue.

Those who attend and receive a program will see that the foreward has been written by Steven Moffat. In his typical style, he's used this platform to tease the future a little.

    Blogtor Who received this transcript:
Doctor Who's 50th anniversary is coming. In Cardiff, we're gearing up for the biggest, the best and the most ambitious season we've ever made. There will be shocks, surprises and heartbreak - the Doctor is about to say goodbye to his very best friends, Amy and Rory.

And then he's about to say hello to someone very different - the Doctor is going to meet someone very new in the very last place he could ever have expected...

The TARDIS Swimming Pool? His bed? And what's "very new" - a baby?

The program apparently used the phrase "heartbreaking farewell" repeatedly, in reference to the end of the Pond storyline. They at least want us to think that somebody is going to die.

    Again.

Production on the new series is apparently due to kick off in just a few weeks. We'll be keeping our ear to the ground as, chances are, the next month or three will see any number of teases, leaks and tantalising glimpses.

If you go to the Melbourne event tomorrow, do have a great time. And if you get a program, we'd love a full scan or a nice clear photo.

    A newly-created Cyberman?

    Death to Amy!

    (please don't kill Rory)

(perhaps it's River, as that's a loose end that might need tidying by the time someone new takes over)

(also, isn't it Smith's last season? Maybe that's it ...)
Stop telling me how things should be, I'm just some cunt on the internet.
Get up, move to a table without the internet, and do something about changing it.

Or his next regeneration. Been a while since we've had a multiple Doctor story, and going forward rather than back would be fairly audacious (although technically everyone but the first is going forward for at least one of them in any theoretical multiple Doctor story.)

I don't believe it's ever been stated that this would be Smith's last season, 3M.

Yes, I was under the impression he was sticking around for the whole of the 50th anniversary and perhaps a bit beyond.

The Moff himself is the new companion. He's the sonic screwdriver come to life. Whenever there's a "deus ex machina" situation, he'll point a finger (or other digit) at whatever needs fixing and go "woo woo woo woooo" and it'll magically get fixed or exploded or whatever needs doing.

No, it's the next season we're talking about, not the last one.
