    Default What's DC Up To With The Infinite Crisis Trademark?

    Infinite Crisis was a comic book mini-series launched by DC in 2005, and published digitally about a year ago.

    But right now DC are applying for a new trademark for Infinite Crisis, in two categories.
    Printed matter and paper goods, namely, books featuring characters from animated, action adventure, comedy and/or drama features, comic books, graphic novels, magazines featuring characters from animated, action adventure, comedy and/or drama features

    Downloadable publications in the nature of books featuring characters from animated, action adventure, comedy and/or drama features, comic books, graphic novels, magazines featuring characters from animated, action adventure, comedy and/or drama features
    A comics fan who works in this legal field told me;
    Seems odd to spend money now unless something new was planned for this trademark...
    I asked if it could be that DC are getting their ducks in a row ahead of Marvel's decision to publish a new comic Infinity for Free Comic Book Day, and was told;
    it seems odd they'd spend the money to protect a former (not generally loved) series same without some plans in the future to do something with it. Perhaps the next video game to follow the Injustice: Gods Among Us game (and accompanying comic book)?
    It's a thought...

    Who the hell doesn't love Infinity Crisis? That's crazy! I will personally go to their house and... sit on their lawn... and cry a lot. *sniff* Poor Ted.

    Seems reasonable that it might be an upcoming animated movie project.

    Nothing is impossible with the Nu52 initiative.

    The Nu52 initiative makes all things possible.

    Nu52 heals the sick.

    Nu52 gives us guidance.

    Nu52 is the Vanguard, through Nu52 all that is wrong with the world will be righted.

    Nu52 has spoken, and Nu52 is inerrant. When Nu52 speaks all bask in the enlightened glory that is Nu52's soothing dulcet tones.

    That is all.

    Since when has the DC Animated stuff been at all tied to the current comic continuity?

    Not really. Since the Nu52 started, DC Animation has put out Justice League: Doom, Batman: The Dark Knight Returns p1 & 2, Batman: Year One, etc.
