Well, we were pretty close... last week Bleeding Cool reported that Joshua Hale Fiakvov, Robert Vendetti, Justin Jordan and Keith Giffen would be the new writers on the Green Lantern titles. And they are. Here's how they all play out according to MTV Geek, who got the official word from DC.
Green Lantern Robert Venditti and Billy Tan
Green Lantern Corps Joshua Hale Fialkov and Bernard Chang
Green Lantern: New Guardians Justin Jordan and Brad Walker
Red Lanterns Joshua Hale Fialkov and Alessandro Vitti
Larfleeze Keith Giffen and Scott Kolins
A subsequent report tagged Fialkov for Corps and Red Lanterns, though erroneously suggested Tomasi would take Green Lantern.
And is that a brand new additional book for Larfleeze or will it replace Threshold?
Fuck DC for simply choosing the same people over and over again!!! Bob Harras and his 90s Marvel cronies have taken over and won't allow anyone new at the table, especially with the marquee titles like the GL series.
Fialkov is brilliant! Can't wait for his 2 books. the others i will wait and see. Unfortunately Giffen is past his prime but he's not so far gone he's unsalvageable. Annihilation wasn't that long ago.
I gotta admit, I am disappointed to hear that Tomasi wasn't bumped up to lead GL writer. I do think they need an experienced vet to lead the team.
Still, I'm hopeful, & I'm excited for a Larfleeze book. Long overdue, & I'm also glad that I may not have to read the Threshold book (which wasn't really grabbing my attention) in order to get his story.
Omg yes yes yes.
So much winning here. Yes yes yes. Thank you geoff johns i know u love green lantern and i trust that u chose the right ppl for it. U didnt disapoint me.
My only complaint is Brad Walker on art. He tends to do more close-ups and in a Green Lantern book, I want to see big images of space and stuff of that sort. I think that was a big problem with the first artist on New Guardians.
I don't think Larfleeze is getting his own book. He is a backup feature in Threshold and this list is giving teh creative teams for all things Green Lantern. Could be wrong though! They gave Amethyst and Frankenstein books
