Default DC Comics\' Official Response To Orson Scott Card Concerns

Whether you're The Advocate or Fox News, you are getting the same answer from DC Comics concerning the decision to hire Orson Scott Card to write a chapter from the first issue of the new Adventures Of Superman anthology comic.
?As content creators we steadfastly support freedom of expression, however the personal views of individuals associated with DC Comics are just that ? personal views ? and not those of the company itself.?
I'm not sure anybody suspected they might have been, however.

What response were you expecting from DCE?

Should they have caved to a vocal minority?

This Orson Scott Card's personal beliefs have nothing to do with DCE, their characters or their books.
You play, you win, you play, you lose. You play. It’s the playing that’s irresistible. Dicing from one year to the next with the things you love, what you risk reveals what you value.

Loathesome I am and evil, you can mock me for that. But leave my pain alone.

Apparently so, according to the vocal minority. I can't see it, myself.

What did anyone expect DC to say?

Expect the book to be boycotted!

The best thing for you folks to do is just not buy his books. When I have a problem with someone working on a product, I just don't buy it.
~Hah... HAH, I SAY!!! The only way I'll even start to believe any attempt that he makes to pay what he owes is sincere and genuine is if he pawns the damn Porsche and uses that as collateral.

This is like me shooting a baby in the head, and trying to sound all repentative pleading my case, WHILE CHEWING ON IT'S CORPSE.~

    My opinion of Pat Lee.

    A perfectly valid response.

I mean, what did you think they would say? It's not their job to worry if Card's a homophobe, as long as he doesn't break any laws and his views don't show in the work he does for them.
After all, even if you think it would be the morally right thing not to publish the comics, when have the big 2 ever been about morals?
They are about business and from that pov, the whole attention this book gets, might even have a positive effect on sales.

You're a homophobe, Doodad. I haven't forgotten the homosexual slur you used on the DCMB. I think you and Orson would get along quite well.

The market will sort it out. Like the devastating blow to Chick fil A's bottom line, what with sales rising 14% from the previous year and being added to the list of most respected companies for the first time ever.
