Default Justice League - Who Is Goldrush? (SPOILERS)

The original promotional cover to Justice League showed off a bunch of other characters aside from the central seven. But most of those we haven't seen hide nor hair of.

That changes with the new Justice League #16, which seems rather reminiscent of Avengers #3, also out today.

However, plans have changed it seems. Some of the characters are present, others are not, and there other characters who have not been mentioned until now.

    Including someone new.

Goldrush. A new member of Wetworks? A reworking of Metal Men? Or someone brand new? And in Red Hood And The Outlaws we get another glimpse of a Justice Leaguer to come...

Comics courtesy of Orbital Comics, London.

If this were Marvel, I'd leave a snarky "Just as planned!" comment.

Seeing as how it's DC, a natural clusterfuck is to be expected.

Does that Justice League cover somehow imply those other characters would join the team? Once again, I am at a loss as to what the problem is.

Element Woman was solicited to appear about 5 issues ago.

To be frank, that isn't even a Justice League cover. It is a poster to promote the New 52. Nowhere did it ever say Justice League on it. I think we all just assumed. Geoff Johns DID say the league was expanding and did mention some of the characters on the poster though.
I'm sure things just changed. And I'm sure Jim Lee thought he was going to make it this far on art, but he didn't.

    What's the controversy?

The team was always going to expand( as these teams do) it was just a matter of time.

Also Deadman and Green Arrow are in a Justice League.

Didn't Jim Lee promise fans that Ryan Choi would be in this book?

don't forget, they ARE all in a version of the Justice League, DeadMan's in JLD and Hawkman now in JLA. Semantics, I know but Justice League is Justice League

did mention some of the characters on the poster though.
