Default Jim Lee's WildCATS To Follow Man Of Steel

Earlier in the year, there were two rumours gaining ground over what Jim Lee was up to after Justice League. One was that he was launching a new Superman book with Scott Snyder called Man Of Steel. Bleeding Cool pitched its tent to that particular field, but we did also note a competitive interest, that of Jim Lee relaunching his original Image title, WildCATS into the New DCU.

Well it appears that plan hasn't been abandoned for Man Of Steel, merely postponed, with a planned launch date for 2014. San Diego Comic Con would be a good place to announce it.

Of late, more and more Wildstorm and WildCATS characters have been working their way into the New DCU. We began with Grifter and Voodoo and have now seen Warblade, Helspont, Team 7 and Zealot pop by, with Ladytron and Spartan coming next year. Preparing the way?

I only got into WildCATs after Jim Lee left the book, so I'd be happy with a new series even without him. I wonder what the plan is though, seeing as how every single WildCAT to appear to date, with the exception of Grifter and Zealot, seems to be a bad guy!

I'd also go for a new Gen13. DC needs to sort out its teen teams, especially now as all of them - the Titans, the Legion, the Ravagers - seem to be kind of directionless (and tanking).

There was seriously a character called Ladytron? Unironically?

Alan Moore created her, so the level of irony is up to you.
Static Pulse: That's why I like you. You're like four degrees away from being a William Gibson protagonist.

I read the headline and thought "A WildCATS movie?!" Silly me.

I think that must the the half-finished-looking robot with the big silver boobs up there, eh? Hard to believe anyone would want these characters back, or Jim Lee for that matter.

There's a long time until 2017, so there's a chance the WildCat characters will turn good by then. But who says the book has to feature all the original characters?

I know these are Jim's "children," as it were, but is there really any demand for these characters anymore?

Dammit, Jim! I'm a fan of All-Star Batman and Robin, not WildCATS! Finish that one first!
