But it also was the most messed and bad written period of the X-franchise - creatively it was a low point (at least, that's how I see It.).

But that's just my honest opinion - no hard feelings.
I thought the Kelly/Seagle era was pretty highly-acclaimed.

They were better than Lobdell and Nicieza, that's for sure.
Still, I can't stop thinking about their subplots that don't go anywhere and the poor development of the characters.

Not bad at all - but I don't see reasons for the 'pretty highly-acclaimed'.

But again... that's my opinion - and I know that a lot of people disagree.
(much more for nostalgy than anything else, I suspect)

Out of the 20 pages in the book, Wonder Woman only appeared on 8 of them. That's not even 50%! This adds weight to the accusation that Wonder Woman is merely a supporting character to the Olympian pantheon.

Look... I wouldn't mind so much if it was just a once-off and the title was usually Diana-centric. But unfortunately it's not.

I respect and kinda understand what Azzarello's trying to do here, but I'd just prefer a lot more Wonder Woman in my Wonder Woman book.

Not from me. I thought the Seagle issues of UXM especially were pretty ordinary.

I completely agree. I totally get that mythological aspects should be present in Wonder Woman's book but there's an over-abundance of it in the current run and it probably wouldn't bother me so much if other aspects of Wonder Woman's world that I like(Steve, Donna, the rogues, etc.) weren't being completely ignored in her solo book.

The good news is that I just listened to a recent podcast that featured Azzarello and he stated that he and DC are discussing the possibility of giving Wonder Woman a 2nd solo book featuring a more straight-up superhero approach in which she'd be doing things like fighting super-villains. He also said that if this does happen, he is not interested in writing a 2nd Wonder Woman book. At this point, there is no official plan in place, it's just something that's being tossed around while DC tries to gage if Wonder Woman can support a 2nd solo book. I say, bring it on and title it Sensation Comics!

That would be awesome. I can't wait to see how some people would spin it into a negative!

...And if you read Waid's novelization of that particular moment, it gave "knocking up" a whole new definitive imagery that only Frank Miller managed to get DC to let it be depicted visually en largesse some years later

Azzarello did a great job reimagining the Pantheon. Which needed doing. Its called world building. She will be fighting Orion and the New Gods. What's wrong with that?
