Default Tom DeFalco Takes Superboy From Scott Lobdell

Last month, Bleeding Cool ran the news that Scott Lobdell would be taking over Superman from September. It was pooh poohed by some. Could even Scott Lobdell write four books a month for DC Comics?

    No.

Today, we discover that Tom DeFalco, who has co-written recent issues Superboy with Scott Lobdell, is taking over the book with issue twelve in August, though the art team stays the same.
SUPERBOY #12 Written by TOM DeFALCO Art by R.B. SILVA and ROB LEAN Cover by STEVE LIGHTLE On sale AUGUST 8 ? 32 pg, FC, $2.99 US ? RATED T ? There?s a monster hiding in the shadows of New York after dark, and she?s set her sights on Superboy. But her interest in him is more complicated than it seems! ? Superboy?s just starting to figure out what it means to have friends ? does he have the good judgment to pick the right ones? Or is he destined to run with the wrong crowd?
But will Tom be writing Superboy #0 in September? I have no idea...

Tom did a good job with Spider-Girl, so I will give him the benefit of the doubt.

Not that I want Lobdell off RHATO, but when I first saw this article I mistook it as DeFalco writing RHATO, which...speaking as someone who got into F4 and loved F4 under DeFalco...would have been hella cool.

This still doesn't change the fact that Lobdell has been horrible on the books he's been on so far.

Wow. I might have to pick this title up!

Now if Tom can only fix Wonder Woman...

Never thought I'd live in a world where Scott Lobdell has to turn books down because he's just that in demand.....so strange.

It makes me happy to live in a world, even if it is for a short period of time, that Tom DeFalco has two monthly series.

I've really liked Lobdell's work at DC lately, but it was pretty obvious he would need to drop a book to pick up Superman. I like DeFalco a lot and his work on Legion Lost has been good and his scripting over Lobdell on Superboy didn't miss a beat from the previous issues so this should be a smooth transition.
