Default Justice League #6 Slips Into Fifth Week In February

Retailers have been complaining about the DC New 52 fifth week. When a month has five Wednesdays, with all the New 52 titles slotted into the first four weeks, it leaves kids books, Vertigo titles and the lower selling non-52 comics, which don't quite have the punch to the pocket that the New 52 comics do. So retailers lose out.Well, they have found a partial solution for this February and its five weeks. And also helping DC out of a little shipping schedule issue.Justice League #6 will slip from February 15th to February 29th, a whole two weeks. January's Justice League #5 had performed a similar trick, slipping one week from the 18th to the 25th.Hwever, after issue 6, Jim Lee will take a three issue break, which I would expect would see the schedule of DC's premier New 52 title recover, in time for his return. Jim Lee and his wife have recently welcomed a new child into the world, and as I recall, the schedule of pretty much anything goes to pot for the first three months. And retailers have a DC book they can sell a whole shedload of at the end of February.

Not the end of the world at all. I'm guessing we will get the fill ins back on their regular 3rd week schedule, and maybe a 3rd one to give Jim enough lead time on his next 5 or 6 issues.

First, it's retailers wanting product that might bring the punters in to alleviate some of those real world concerns you're always on about.
Second, this is a hobby. It's what we do when we're tired of the real world BS. We're all quite capable of having multiple thoughts covering different concerns, y'know?

Just read issue #5, liked it a lot. Not a DC reader, either.

Hey, come to think of it, WHERE IS WILDSIDERZ #3?

This tells me the DCnU did not bring in new readers - just canilbalized the existing market and/or convinced those to spend more while keeping their other books.

If product only sells on its release day and you can't generate sales one to three weeks later, that means you are not expanding your customer base.

Comics aren't fresh fruit - it should be sellable anytime in the month.

After the dismal and tragic pencilling I have seen in these 5 issues, I hope Jim Lee takes a permanent break. I said it before and I'll say it again... just compare his Batman:Hush to the current issues of JLA. The quality drop is so freaking huge its like a different penciller has taken over. Most disappointing book out of the entire DCnU for me in terms of art. I had high hopes for it.

What are you talking about? There is nothing here about a comic only selling on it's release date. Everything sells better on its release date though.
