    Default Mike Cotton Joins DC Comics As Editor

    One familiar name who I was surprised to see in DC's editorial credits for the most recent issue of Earth Two was Mike Cotton. As editor of the book.

    Ex-editor of Wizard Magazine who was there until almost its dying days, he is also the publisher of Champion! as a comics magazine app, though that has seemed to fade away of late.

    Mike seems quite keen too, tweeting;
    Exclusive: First Look at EARTH 2 #8 comicvine.com/news/exclusive? via @comicvine

    ? Mike Cotton (@MichaelCotton) January 8, 2013
    I e-mailed him asking about his new status, but for someone often quite chatty, I received no response whatsover.

    Yeah, so he's definitely a DC editor then.

    Well good for him. He always seemed quite nice at the Wizard World events. Champion didnt take off as well as I hoped it would have.

    Shouldn't the editors name be the last thing on there as well as the smallest font size?

    We need any further proof that DC is completely off the rails now???? I guess they figure he can bring the same kind of success to DC that Wizard Magazine has.

    If Dan DiDio farted, you guys would be quick to point out how crazy DC is.

    I have nothing against him, nor any idea how competent he is, but: more editors at DC? Really?
    To be or not to be. That's not really a question.

    Because a guy from Wizard unquestionably has the talents needed to lead DC into the new millenium as opposed to the '90s???

    Well, lets put this into context. DC does everything in their power to get rid of Karen Berger. And now we have this story. It's pretty clear DC wants to be like Marvel, but they have no fucking clue how to get there. And they never will get Marvel's diminish, but leading, numbers.

    Thank the Gods there are far better alternatives to DC and Marvel's comics. The only thing we can do is to stop buying from DC or Marvel. Just stop.
