Default Grace Randolph\'s Stacktastic: The Redemption Of Jean Grey

    Grace Randolph writes;
    Maybe I DON'T hate Jean Grey, aka The Phoenix. Brian Michael Bendis has brought her back in All New X-Men and host Grace Randolph gives her review of the character in the first few issues of All New X-Men. How does it change things that young Jean Grey and not young Cyclops has seen the future and decided to change it? Is this a new chapter for Jean Grey? And what opportunities does this open up for the character? From being the new team leader of the original five X-Men, to love with Wolverine, to the return of her Phoenix powers? Jean Grey reborn, returns...it just might be a good idea. Think About The Ink is presented by Bleeding Cool.

    I am sorry but bendis is not writing Jean gray here . sure she has the same name and look as Jean Gray but the character reads more like Hope Summers. While Jean not take crap from people never a person to use swear words and Charles Xavier expected her to behave he was not one who would have allowed her to put her self in that kind of danger. seeing the future would not make her become more violent and assertive . Now Hope on the other hand is tough as nails swears every so often and not much different the Jean in new Xmen it is confusing. Hope is my favorite X Man. I love Jean too but they should be written differently Jean gray In new X men does not have the life experiences Hope did. jean was a flower child girl of the 1960s with a girl scout take on life. the best story written about Jean during this period of time was Jean Grey Origin special.

    Jean becoming the leader of the X-Men has been done before. In Claremont's out of continuity (and IMO, very underrated) X-MEN FOREVER series, Jean became the leader of the X-Men.
