Hi there, boys and girls. Merry Christmas Eve to all of you.
Apologies for the lack of a post last week, I was off helping Mrs. Claus cooking mince pies for the Old One himself.
To quickly catch you up on last week; How I Met Your Mother got a 3.2, Happy Endings and Don?t Trust The B---- scored a 1.2 and 1.0 respectively, New Girl garnered a 2.0, Arrow fell to a 0.9, The Big Bang Theory laughed up a 5.4, Up All Night hit a series low at 0.9, The Vampire Diaries bit 1.2, and Fringe rose with a 1.1.
Now the latest.
On Monday, the series finale ? yes, the last ever episode ? of Gossip Girl buzzed up a 0.8, the biggest number for the show in a long time. Up even more from last week, How I Met Your Mother got a 3.4 ? leading into CBS finally giving the show a ninth season that nobody but the suits need.
Capitalising on the finale of The Voice, NBC?s new political comedy1600 Penn earned a decent 2.3
The season finale of the first 2012/2013 cycle of The Voice sang up a season high at 4.9 on Tuesday. Yes, that is a mouthful and we?ll see how The Voice does when it returns in JUST A FEW MONTHS.
Meanwhile, Happy Endings did a 1.3, while Don?t Trust The B---- snarked a 1.0. Vegas is still powering along, very steadily, gaining a 1.6 this week.
On Wednesday, a case study for unnecessary TV could be taken, with A Home For The Holidays With Rascal Flatts (0.9), The X Factor (2.7), 20/20: The Year With Katie Couric (1.6) and The 2012 Miss Universe Competition (1.8) all airing. Truly, the Golden Age of Television.
Thursday isn?t significantly better, with NBC?s A White House Christmas doing 1.6 and ABC airing a CMA Country Christmas? Which, I think, translates as Country Music Awards Country Christmas, right? Anyway, it got a 1.5. The season finale for the second disappointing year of the US X Factor scored a 3.1.
For some reason, FOX, knowing Fringe is dead, aired another episode on Friday, December 21st. ?Nobody's watching TV then,? one exec shouts in a busy boardroom. ?Nerds are!,? the room screams back. And they were right, Fringe got up a 1.0. One of its better ratings this season.
I?ll see you all next week, with more numbers, speculation and excitement. Ifthere?s something more fun than TV ratings, I don?t want to know it.
