    Default Howard Overman Has Written His Misfits Feature Film Screenplay

    AsMisfits series four continues on E4 it keeps swinging its scythe through the cast as all the actors get jobs in big movies (or end up doing community service themselves).

    But it's possible some of them may be returning. On Alex Fitch's Panel Borders podcast radio show, Howard Overman told him;
    Whether or not you've completely seen the end of Simon and Alisha, if our movie has its way, is another issue...

    ...I've written the first draft of the script and we'll see what happens.
    When asked "You mentioned the possibility of returning characters... is it going to be set in the past of the show or...?" Overman said:
    I'm not going to give that away! If it happens it will involve past and present characters, I'm not allowed to give away anything more than that.
    Sorry, Howard, you already did.

    Overman's a great surname for someone who writes about people with superpowers.

    Misfits is awesome, but it is quite hard to take so much of the cast getting killed off. I would love Simon and Alisha to come back and get a happy ending, which for Misfits would be quite novel. If they returned for the film and ended up being killed off it would be quite disappointing, especially given that where the tv series finished Simon and Alisha are already in a time loop where they both continually die. Also it would be great to see Robert Sheehan with Joseph Gilgun (Rudy), something that never happened in the tv show.

    Christ, I hope they don't bring back Simon and Alysha. Simon was interesting when he was troubled and barely-socially-competent - his voyage from interesting oddball to Barry meant that there was nothing interesting about him by the end, with the only real purpose he could serve being as a plot device. And Alysha was never interesting, though her character did move from "vapid, shallow and uninteresting" to "marginally less vapid & shallow but still uninteresting".

    I wouldn't mind seeing what Nathan's been up to since he disappeared, but Simon & Alysha were mind-bogglingly dull in the last series and I've never been so glad to see them definitively gone from a show's character roster.

    Honestly, I just want two hours of Nathan being a snarky dick to everyone.
