The Insult That Man A Man Out Of Moloch
Before Watchmen: Moloch #1 is out today from Joe Michael Straczynski and Eduardo Risso, telling the story of Watchmen's Moloch, from child freak to magician to mobster. But it reminded me of something else... remember this?
Well, it's not too far from what happened to Moloch. We start with an insult, though in this case, it's from a woman
He finds a solution...
He uses it for violent revenge.
And he gets the girl. Well, a girl.
Just a shame Moloch didn't have those sticky out ears...
Yeah, for half a second, I thought this might be the one Befoul Watchmen book that was minutely bearable - because of Risso's brilliant art. Then I saw right away that JMS went with the "he was a freak, so he ran and joined a circus" cliche
Also, that little girl beat-down scene goes on for 2 or 3 panels. That a little girl would get that violent is just stupid.

How does one manage to fuck up so many headlines so badly?
It's either an amazing amount of practice or an even more amazing amount of simply not giving a fuck.

I hope Risso was paid well for this, but it's hard to think of a less-engaging premise for a mini-series. What are DC thinking of?
