ComiXology have just upgraded their Kids-Only version of their web reader, Comix 4 Kids, to make it synch with your existing grown up adult ComiXology collection, but cutting out all those naughty comic books with bad words, rude bits and heads being eaten by zombies.
Perfect for My Little Pony, Tiny Titans and... um...
I jest. There's been a bit of a mini-boom in All Ages comics of late, with Adventure Time still rocking every show I see it sold at.
Now I have two kids, and they always play with my iPad, but I haven't had to have the "Daddy, what's Walking Dead" conversation yet. They have their own comics app, but I know they know I use another one, which has comics they might like to read on it. And I've been wary to let them use it, considering some of the filthy depraved comics I've downloaded. This app may, possibly, delay that conversation till they are maybe ten or ten and have worked out a way around it.
I have, however, turned the In-App Purchase off as standard. After the situation with the Talking Tommy's wardrobe collection.

I sent a message to Comixology suggesting that they add parental controls to their app. I got a nice response saying that they didn't have plans for that, but it was a good idea and would be under consideration. That was about a year ago. I'd love to share my account with my 13 year old, but some of the books are definitely not ones I want him reading yet. Unfortunately, it's all or nothing with the app.
I've been hoping they would improve the kids app. I'm glad it syncs with the normal app so I can share purchases with my kids. I also heard they would be accepting submissions soon as well. I'd like them to carry my kids comics too.
