My Little Pony #1 Sells Over 90,000 Copies
Wow. Just wow.
I understand that advance orders for the first issue of the My Little Pony comic from IDW, all of it's covers (including the box set of six covers) , have come in.
They total 90,100.
On current statistics that would put it selling better than Uncanny X-Men.
Obviously the All New X-Men relaunch will top that, but still. That's an awful lot of ponies.
And I can hear two little voices across the pond saying "Daddy, can we have our My Little Pony comics?"
It will happen.
lol...The end of the world is happening. I love my DC comics...but I find this slap in the face of Marvel to be epic.
Pretty insane. Be interesting to see if Bronies really put their money where their mouth is when the comic hits the stands.
I still don't get it.... Instead trying to understand this little pony thing, I should buy some copies.

Hell, if Jim Lee drew SPIDER-GIRL or A-NEXT with DeFalco writing it, those books would rocket to the top of the sells chart. That being said, the 6 variant covers is most likely the main (but not the only) reason why this book has pre order sales of 90,000 copies.
Probably a few big chain store orders make the difference here. I can only hope this means the big 2 stop trying to tell us kids books don't sell!

Yeah, I wouldn't go about considering this some kind of victory for all-ages comics, since virtually all the buyers will be a vaguely creepy adult fanbase who have entirely co-opted a toyline and cartoon intended for little girls to the exclusion of its target audience being recognized as its main supporters.
