Default Thursday Trending Topics: Not Watchmen

Ok, that's kind of interesting... there was much less Watchmen at the top of the charts (even beyond the top 3) than I would have expected today (and it wasn't for lack of trying). Has everyone made up their minds already, decided to get it or not, and moved on to the next topic? Let's take it to a poll:

Spider-Man?s New Costume Gets A Colour Scheme | Bleeding Cool Comic Book, Movies and TV News and Rumors
Spider-Man: Ends Of The Earth is the storyline that writer Dan Slott says he?s been building up to, with Doctor Octopus and the Sinister Six launching numerous world threats simultaneously.

Buffy Season Nine Issue 9 Cover (SPOILERS) | Bleeding Cool Comic Book, Movies and TV News and Rumors
The cover to issue 8 of Buffy The Vampire Slayer Season Nine caused considerable stir. And we still don?t exactly know how that?s going to play out, although I suspect a Skywalker apporach. But, trying not to spoil anything, the covers to Buffy The Vampire Slayer Season Nine #9 appear to show a Buffy who is, well, less likely to be on her way to Venus de Milo status.

The Action Comics #6 Variant You Don?t Want | Bleeding Cool Comic Book, Movies and TV News and Rumors

New Dark Knight Toys Make Me Want To Hug Tom Hardy And Tell Him Everything Will Be Okay | Bleeding Cool Comic Book, Movies and TV News and Rumors
The Wayne Enterprises factories are working over time to get The Dark Knight Rises merchandise ready to go and, as with Green Lantern, there are two very clear approaches being taken. Movie Masters will be highly articulated figures (Maybe all of Tom Hardy?s shoulder muscles will move individually!) whilst Quick Tek will be a series of less detailed figures with snap on armour and equipment. Basically, if they made Pirate Batman now, he?d be a Quick Tek figure.

Wednesday Night Mini-Rushes ? A ?Man? With Four Arms And A Woman Swooshing Her In 3D | Bleeding Cool Comic Book, Movies and TV News and Rumors
This publicity stunt for Chronicle took some doing.

Can You Guess Which Movie Franchise This Superbowl Ad Suddenly And Inexplicably Crashes Into? | Bleeding Cool Comic Book, Movies and TV News and Rumors
I don?t get it. I didn?t see it coming, and I didn?t understand it after it happened.

I know it sucks for Bleeding Cool, having spent time uncovering and writing about Watchmen prequels, but it makes me happy that people care more about Spidey, Buffy and Superman.

    To resume about Before Watchmen:

You do not want to read them: do not buy it.
You agree with Alan Moore: do not buy it.
You disagree with Alan Moore: do what you want.
You disagree with DC Comics: do not buy it.
You do not know what you will do: wait for the previews and make your mind.
    You are in: buy it.
You are a trade-waiter: wait for the trade.

I want them, so I will buy them. I do not know you but when I am reading a comic book, I am looking for one thing: to be pleased to read a comic book. And these are my final words on this subject.

So, enough of all the blahblahblahblah shit! Made your mind and shut up!

About Spider-Man, I do not know at all what about this story. But I think it is maybe the time to modernize this iconic character and bring new readers to the Spidey titles. It is not a true blue but more a greenish-blue that reflects this new costume material. Like the same costume material of the DNcU Superman? That will change from a simple tissue costume!!

    Aut Pax. Aut Bellum.

Support the comic book indy scene.

Question about the mainstreamed comic books: why I am still buying the singles when the trades are well inexpensive? Why?
I am doing the DC and Vertigo singles... and the new titles of 2011/12 are already listed on Amazon at real lower prices in trade format!!!
    Am I stupid?

I voted bad idea, but it's not that simple really. It's a great idea to bring new life to the Watchmen world (although putting it into the hands of so many creators instead of just trusting a single team reduces the chances of a mesmerising, iconic, worthy successor). However, I can't be drawn to it because of the unresolved issues with Moore, hence my "bad" vote.

I was really struggling with my integrity here, because of some of the attached artists and writers are among my favourites, but the discussion here in this forum really helped to cement my opinion.

It would be immoral to buy these books and the way some people tried to justify their decision to buy them, by attacking Alan Moore, really brought me off my fanboy urge to at least buy Amanda Conner's and Adam Hughes' miniseries.

Sorry, this last part can't be shortened.
