Default Archie Comics Publishes Jinx Graphic Novel. No, Not That Jinx Graphic Novel

Archie Comics has been through a number of changes of late. By launching a Riverdale series with a gay male lead, and putting a same sex wedding on the cover of Life With Archie, they've rapidly become the most openly progressive mainstream comics publisher.

But would they really also republish Brian Bendis' graphic novel Jinx, a dark, violent, sexual criminal thriller in chilling black and white?

    No, apparently not.

Their Jinx, is a new original colour graphic novel for tween and teen girls by talents more familiar with Oni Press, J. Torres and Rick Burchett starring classic character L'il Jinx as recently seen in Life With Archie as Jinx Holliday, out of middle school and into high school with a bang,
Now in high school, a ?more mature? Jinx Holliday is discovering that growing up is a lot more complicated: her girlfriends want her to ?act like a girl? and the coaches don?t think she belongs on teams with the boys. Even the guys she ran with since elementary school are having a hard time adjusting to life in high school. Jinx deals with the stuff we all encounter when we reach high school: new relationships, heartache, excitement, frustrations, expectations, and the challenges of figuring out the realities of life. This outstanding graphic novel is a bright, full-hearted coming of age story told with great humor, charm and compassion.

Really hope no one gets them mixed up on the shelf.

That actually looks pretty cool. Interesting that Archie could be publishing some "credible" material.

Wha...? Li'l Jinx has grown up? First Little Lulu now Li'l Jinx?

Who's next? Little Lotta? Little Dot? Little Audrey? Little Archie? Oh, wait, never mind about that one.

They had Jinx stories briefly in Life With Archie until they disappeared silently. Nice to see the material finally being printed.

Yeah, I was annoyed when Jinx disappeared. I may have to pick this up.

Rick Burchett is an amazing and much overlooked artist. Nice to see him on a higher profile book.

Meanwhile, I keep forgetting to grab a copy of Bendis's Jinx. I kept meaning to buy the copy buried amongst trades at my old comic shop
