Default Gail Simone Spins Off Milhouse, Bart Simpson's Pal #1

Coming from Bongo in April, is the Simpsons Comic spinoff Milhouse, Bart Simpson's Pal, written by Gail Simone and Pat McGrealm and drawn by Bob Smitjh, Carol Lay, Jason Ho and Mike Rote. Here are the solicitations.
Bart Simpson's pal Milhouse takes center stage in the next of our series of Simpsons Comics One-Shots. Take a look at the world of Springfield through the eyes of Bart's bespectacled best friend, second banana, and juvenile delinquent wannabe, and the fantastical things you see through his thick lenses might surprise you.

And here's the back page of an issue of the Simpsons Comic from a whil back that seems to have foreshadowed this one.

You know, I miss the old flip-style books (though they're occasionally confusing to sort and index -- there was a Radioactive Man in there somewhere that I was trying to put with my Radioactive Man comics until I realized it was the back of an issue of Simpsons Comics).

They've really put out some great stuff lately, with guys like Aragones and Dorkin doing short pieces.

And the latest Treehouse of Horror, with a Jim Woodring homage to EC, was my honest-to-goodness favorite book of 2011 (yes, edging out Love and Rockets).

I want an Homage to Frank Miller where Puppy Goo Goo gets hooked on crack.

The first cover's cool, but I love the seventies baseball card-inspired cover is hilarious.

...You know, considering that all her YABbos have turned out to be real-life Milhouses, as sycophantic to you-know-who as Milhouse is to Bart - or, arguably, Lisa - this book strikes as irony to its grossest definition.
