Default Mark Wahlberg Gets Interested In Kody Chamberlain's Sweets

    Well that was fortuitous.

Kody Chamberlain went on KISW Rock radio station, where he talkmed about his comic book Sweets, a New Orleans detective story told in the days before Hurricane Katrina, and when asked how he'd cast any movie of the comic, he stated that he'd like Mark Wahlberg to play the lead.

Which was handy because Mark Wahlberg was a guest on the show the day afterwards.

Sweets was brought up, (you can hear the clip right here), Mark Wahlberg said he'd be interested in reading, even buying up the comic for a movie option.

    Cue Kody Chamberlain's head exploding.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how deals are done.

between stuff like this and tailoring Nick Fury to be Sam Jackson, i wonder how long it will be before comics are tailored towards various famous people to curry favor. this would lead the industry down the path of creating stories based on who is popular, instead for thier own sake. soon enough we'll see Mary Jane marry Brad Pitt. lol
i love Sam Jackson, and the occasional star cameo is fun, but enough is enough! now this crap is invading the 616, and thats just bullshit. enough of Millar's movie star ass-kissing.

    Stygma,

I did NOT create my comic storyline or any of my characters based on actors. I was asked a specific question about a hypothetical movie and if I thought there was an actor I thought could do a good job, so I named an actor I thought could do a good New Orleans accent.

What exactly is the problem? I don't see it.

Kody put in a lot of work on this series, and if he can get big Hollywood cash for his efforts (and put another comic book property out to the masses), I say good for him!

    Kody:

You don't know me, but I'd offer a piece of advice and add Stygma to your ignore list. This is the same guy that, because I cast Hitler as a (gasp!) villain in a 1934-set Flash Gordon story, has decided that all of Dynamite Entertainment are all white supremacists. Run while you can, man. There be dragons here.

    "Sweets" is awesome, btw.
