Default Weeks-Ahead-Digital For Mitt Romney And Michele Bachmann Comic Book

A number of publishers have moved to day-and-date digital comic books, releasing comics digitally on the same day that they are available in the major markets of the US, Canada and the UK.

Bluewater, famed publishers of lightboxed slimline biography comic books of politicians and pop stars, is taking advantage of the current furore over the Republican Presidential candidates after the Iowa cacus by digitally releasing the comic biographies of Mitt Romney and Michelle Bachmann, with Romney's victory in mind and before everyone loses interest in Bachmann after her withdrawal from the race, rathr than publish them at the end of the month.

This won't play well with the print comic book stores who usually demand returnability from a publisher for this sort of thing,

The publisher also has Ron Paul and Rick Perry comics to come in February. Rick Santorum's rise however seems to catch Bluewater on the hop. It shouldn't be too hard to knock something up quickly though, can't they just Google his name and see what they find?

Well, I don't have any sympathy left for stores who actually stock this dreck (and we flat out ignore comics published by Bluewater and don't want their product in our store), so yeah, make the print version returnable or lower your initial order so that Bluwater won't release a print version at all (which would then save trees... win-win).

Way to be streets behind, Bluewater. Publishing these even this week is late and weak. Boom! already had their Bachmann and other GOP political biopic comics. Bachmann already went into overdrive and crashed in the Iowa caucus, dropping out of the race. I guess she's going to spend more time with her totally not gay husband. Hell, I remember seeing a preview for the awful awful art of Bluewater's Bachmann comic a while ago. I thought it was already out.

Meanwhile, has anyone contacted Steve Ditko to see if he'd be interested in drawing some comics or art for Ron Paul?

I saw Bosch Fawstin has been.. but he's.. well.. he's not a fan. Funny how his politics on wiping out Islam conflict with fellow Randian Paul.

    Dear Bleeding Cool:

If you're going to take subtle pot shots at people who hold different political beliefs than you, you're going to lose readers.

Bleeding Cool has NEVER taken a subtle potshot at anyone: ever. Blatant, yes. Subtle, no. Rich wants hits.

I have been oddly fascinated with Bluewater Comics as in, who really buys this stuff? I know their Obama and Justin Biever comics sold ok but this horrible traced art and a Mitt Romney comic? Who buys this?

If the Santorum issue covers his bringing a dead baby home from the hospital to play with his kids, I'm in. It's a sad state of affairs that this guy is even covered at all by people with any level of sanity or intelligence.

Was there ever an interest in Bachmann?
