As far as I've been able to tell there really hasn't been a clear cut, public reason regarding Carey's exit from X-Men Legacy, it seems that he had plenty more stories to tell but for whatever reason he's now off the book.
I've just assumed that because of Regenesis, whatever space opera stories Carey might've still had up his sleeve had to be shelved because of the new X status quo. Marvel can't have a group of X-men doing whatever they like while the rest of the teams fall into this new way of being (which, as an aside, I'm way into, even if it's kind of silly).
And with the release of Leviathan, it becomes evident that GM's own Bat plans were broken by the 52 reboot.
I'm just wondering, first, if I'm right about Carey, if anyone has heard anything on that tip. Secondly, how common is this, are there other examples of writers not being able to tell the stories they want because of company wide editorial changes? I like trying to imagine what could've been, because as is evident from Leviathan, what could've been is a million times more interesting than what has been.
