Many thanks.

Age: 38
1. Which of these 6 films have you seen?
Marvel:
• Thor Yes
• Iron Man Yes
• Captain America Yes
DC:
• The Dark Knight Yes
• Green Lantern Yes
• Superman Returns Yes
2. Have you read the Marvel/DC comic books of these films?
Yes/No I'm not sure exactly which comics you're referring to, as each of those franchises has dozens of comics attached to them, but yes, I have read comics featuring each of those characters.
If no, why did you go and see the films?
.................................................. .................................................
3. What attracted you to them?
• I like the actor
• The trailer looked good
• I like action/adventure films
• Media hype
• Effective marketing (billboards, web teasers etc)
• I am a fan of the comics
• My partner/friend (who is a fan) took me to see it
• Other: Different reasons for each film, but for the most part it's because of the creative teams attached to each movie (with the exception of Green Lantern. That one was just out of habit.
4. What did you like about the films?
• Plot
• Cast
• Special effects/CGI
• Screenplay
• Direction
• Performance
• Other: Again, each one is different, so there is no blanket statement here. Usually when I love a movie it's because of a combination of great screenplay and great direction.
5. What did you dislike about the films?
• Plot
• Cast
• Special effects/CGI
• Screenplay
• Direction
• Performance
• Other: Again, each of these movies is different, so it's not fair to give them a blanket statement. Out of all of these, the only one that I would say was a "bad" movie was Green Lantern, though I have quibbles with all of them.
6. Did you know which films were Marvel and which were DC?
Yes/No
Yes, but to say that GL, Superman, and Batman are all "DC" isn't quite accurate, as the creative process behind those 3 is wildly different than the 3 Marvel movies you mentioned. Those 3 DC movies were made years apart, with no editorial consistency between them. The Marvel ones were all shepherded by the same top-level production teams, and so they have a consistency that the DC ones don't have.
If yes, how did you know?
.................................................. ...............................................
7. Does it matter to you about the origins of the films?
Yes/No
I don't understand this question.
Why is this?
8. How did you feel when Ryan Reynolds was cast in both a Marvel and DC film? (X-Men Origins: Wolverine and The Green Lantern respectively.)
• Pleased
• Disappointed
• Didn’t care
Um....really? That's a question? Of course not. Actors play different roles all the time. That's their job. Also, the X-Men movies are not owned by Marvel Studios.
9. Likewise what was your opinion when Chris Evans played a part in two different Marvel Films?
• Pleased
• Disappointed
• Didn’t care
Again, this is a question? Technically he's also been in a DC movie and an ONI movie. He's an actor. Their job is to play different characters.
10. Do you enjoy the crossovers the films share with the different Avengers? e.g. Nick Fury, Tony Stark, Howard Stark, Hawkeye etc.
• Yes
• No
• Don’t care
Yes, because they were well written for the most part. If they hadn't been, I wouldn't have.
11. How did you learn about these types of movie?
• Comic Books
• Internet
• Advertisement (posters, adverts, etc.)
• Word of Mouth
• Other
If other, please state where
Internet
12. Which films do you think you generally prefer?
Marvel
DC
No preference
Movies that are well-written, with great creative teams.
Any additional comments on the films
Again, up till recently the DC film creative process has been haphazard, so to compare the two brands isn't fair. It wasn't until Green Lantern that Warner decided to look at DC in the same way that Marvel Studios uses the Marvel properties. That being said, obviously Marvel has done a better job using their IPS in an effective way than Warners has.
