    Another solid list!

2011 was a good year for Walking Dead comics, dealing mostly with "No Way Out" and its aftermath. 2012 should be big, as issue #96 marks the end of the series' second 48-issue mega-arc and #100 is due a few months later.

Warren Ellis' Secret Avengers has been a low-key treat, but Marvel's best book for most of 2011 was Thunderbolts. From Hyperion's arrival last January to the gleeful madness of Satanna, a giant-sized flaming Man-Thing gaping over the city of Chicago, the collapse of the Raft, Crossbones' murderous exit, Declan Shalvey, Kev Walker, the Classic 'Bolts and the time-traveling Underbolts, Jeff Parker quietly delivered 19 or 20 of the best comics of his career. As a Thunderbolts fan since '97, color me excited.

Thanks very much! I've heard the same thing about Thunderbolts from a few people, but I can't say that it grabbed me the same way. I'll have to read it again to see what I've been missing I suppose. Thanks for the tip, and the feedback!

Many of the best issues (Hyperion, Satanna, the formation of the Underbolts, etc.) are contained within the "Violent Rejection" trade, so that's the one to look into. Those are followed by the Fear Itself tie-in arc which, IMO, was actually more entertaining than the main Fear Itself series.
