Default Page Fourteen In Pencils And Inks From Green Lantern #1

Page 14 from Green Lantern #1 by Geoff Johns and Doug Mahnke, in pencils and in inks. Like I said in the headline.

    Last one in an hour....

Goood I hate mahnke's art. He cant draw teeth, he always makes everyone look wrinkled and all he does is fill in the smaller panesl with what basically look like stick figures.

Sure, he gets his books out on time, but thats because he doesnt put a lot of effort into his overly simplistic work. So many talented ppl out there and they have Patrick Gleason- light on green lantern... Well i suppose its obviouS why...DC must pay Mahnke in bread crumbs, so more money goes to them! Cheap artist on a best selling book... Ugh

Too bad it'll look like crap once it's over-colored.

    Default Mahnke's art

All this bitchin' about these pages being re-posts from Newsarama! If it bothers ya'll that bad, then why are you checking them out here? Just so's you can play the troll? Hmmmm

As for Mahnke's artwork being "simplistic", I would love to see the critic's attempts at even part of his panels. I can understand if you don't like a particular artist (or writer), but why go out of your way to constantly criticize their artwork? Sounds a lot like jealous behavior to me.

I am an artist, and I can see the amount of work that goes into each and every panel. Love him or hate him, the man is immensely talented, and fills his panels with an extreme amount of detail, time and fore-thought!

because its too long to wait to see Tony Daniel's Detective Comics #1 pages we first saw yesterday...

and In all honesty, I don't think Rich actually realizes they were posted on Newsarama yesterday, I think he thinks he's got the exclusive on the house ads and the QR codes

I would rather read it here than on Newsarama. I've hated their site layout for some time.

    Rich Johnston,

In this post and in the Scott Williams inked Jim Lee Justice League pages, the inked pages are coming out all bitmapped and jagged. This makes the black & white inked pages look like shit. Yet, you guys occasionally (more often, lately) publish these shit-quality images.

The clarity of the inked piece in this post should be AT LEAST AS SMOOTH AND CLEAR as the pencil version.

PLEASE CORRECT THIS CRAPPY STANDARD YOU SEEM TO BE EMBRACING MORE AND MORE.

This does not speak well of how much you (seemingly don't) care to show only the quality images on your site.

^ I was just going to post that Mahnke should get someone else to ink his work.

    Another pin-up?
    The dickens you say!

The 90s really are back at Image, er, um, I mean the DCnU!
Although Sinestro really needs some puches to be Kewl to the Xtreme.
    And shoulder pads.
And a gun bigger than his body.
And to change his name to Deathblood Strikekiller.
Jeez, Jim Lee knows this already. He really needs to get on the ball here and tell the artists how to do their jobs.
