    Hi!

    EXCLAMATION

    Anyway, hello.
I am not making a request, far from it, more a mention of a nice piece of bbcode that I saw utilised on a board I used to frequent called Bowlie.

Before facebook became the site duJour, there was this functionality to 'like' a post that someone would put on to the site.
I rather like this aesthetic, because there a (too numerous to count) ... there are lots of posts on here, that I wish it to get back to the creator of which that I appreciate their output ... but I don't particularly want to gush, nor do I want to disrupt threads with a quote and a "hehe".

Just thought I'd float this one as a possible integration in future updates to the forum, because it's good to appreciate other's fine words ...

I'm getting slight deja vu, so I might have suggested this before.
    Sorry, if that's the case.

If there's a "like" button, there should also be a "no like" button.

Didn't BC already try something similar once with the reputation function? Which, thanks to a bunch of trolls being active here at the time, backfired horribly.

actually, that's where it stems from.
you see, bowlie, too, suffered from the reputation system ... so ... rather than do away with it, I think they muted it down to the fact that you could only 'like' something ... because 'not liking' had the propensity to enflame people (let's take a look at the multiple threads ongoing in the news section for how reactionary people can be ;-))

they might've actually removed it completely, not sure, and replaced it with a 'comment' functionality ... whereby you could leave a comment for people to then read in their account screen ...
this was good, and unmonitored unless a severe case of insultation was actually committed ...

overall, I like 'like' ... 'not like' ... well ... we've seen the thin skinnedness of our population (new and old) this week, huh?

I'd rather not, for exactly the reason. I expect my ignore list would grow exponentially if I checked that section out.
