    Exclamation Bbc

So I picked up on the media defender stuff linked with BC (which I did find very odd) ... I've also noticed BBC attempts, too ...

    Destination 212.58.246.83* port 80

I'm not being funny or anything, but it just brings two questions, is all:
    1. What have the BBC got to do with Bleeding Cool?
(because it doesn't happen on other regular sites)
    2. Why are you using MediaDefender, since there's no liklihood of Peer2Peer action against BC?

    Yours curiously ... Mad_Man_Moon

These IPs are now being blocked every time I try to access your site.
    216.52.115.2
    216.52.115.2
    216.52.115.2

    212.58.244.57
    212.58.246.84
    212.58.246.82

those bottom three are BBC, and the top four are "COMTek Communications Technologies" whom I can't rule out of being responsible for other tabs.

Let me know how you're determining this and I'll try to unravel it. BC doesn't use mediadefender or attempt to block your use of any other site. Incidentally, both of the IP's you referenced in the previous thread are used by Avatar, not just the BC's -- the other one is the FreakAngels machine.

I'm getting these from peerblock, which is a derivative of peerguardian (an IP blocker from, er, phoenix(?) software or something). It blocks IPs based off of internet lists.

It's entirely possible that the IPs were previously owned by BBC, and now avatar owns them.

    If you guys own:
    212.58.244.56-59
    212.58.244.60-61
    212.58.246.81-85
I'll unblock them manually and contact the list developers to let them know to update the lists.

I'm guessing it would only affect .1% of the readership (paranoid fuckers like me), but if it helps get 1 more click, I'm happy to help ;-)

I think that's the likely explanation. The machines are in a large Los Angeles colo facility and I was told at the time that lots of major net companies use them.

In any case, thanks for the help.
