Hachette Boardgames has revealed two new board game titles on the way, as they will be releasing Omens and Shape It. Omens, better known as Presages in France, is designed by Maxime Rambourg and illustrated by Ben Renaut, with the gameplay designed around shedding bad omens without bringing too much chaos to yourself or other players. Meanwhile, Shape It is a limited communication party game designed by Thomas Dagenais-Lesperance, which will have players determining whether they see words in the same shapes as their friends. We have mroe details on both below as they will be released this July in hobby shops.

Omens

Shed your Omens faster than the other team! In this team versus party game, the rules are simple: use the number, color suit, and conditions of your cards to win tricks to shed cards from play. Careful! Omens can bring chaotic fortunes and make it difficult to shed cards, but the first team with a player down to one card wins. Will Omens seal your fate, or will you escape it?

Shape It

Shape It is a cooperative game in which players move shapes to try to guess a word. What word is your group trying to illustrate? That's the game: You don't know for sure… But it has to be on one of the 5 cards on the table. When it comes time to guess, will you all see the same word in the shapes you've placed? Good luck! If your whole group sees the same Word in the shapes you've placed, you win the round and collect a Word card. If you don't all see the same thing, you lose a Life.

If you collect 5 cards, you win! If you lose your 3 Lives… you've lost the game.

In the upcoming rock and roll-centric season, the Vampire Lestat goes on an electric multi-city tour while being haunted by "muses" from his wild and rebellious past. As his band's popularity and star power rises, so does Lestat's influence over vampires and humans alike, leaving others to contend with Lestat's power in the face of the Great Conversion, an unnatural surge in the vampire population. In addition to Reid, The Vampire Lestat stars Jacob Anderson, Assad Zaman, Eric Bogosian, Delainey Hayles, and Jennifer Ehle. 

In addition, the season also stars Ella Ballentine (Black Conflux) as Baby Jenks, Jeanine Serralles (Apples Never Fall) as Christine Claire, Christopher Heyerdahl (Under the Banner of Heaven) as Marius, and Damien Atkins (Slings & Arrows) as Magnus. Also, Sheila Atim (The Irregulars, The Underground Railroad) has been officially cast as Akasha, the first vampire in existence. In addition, Noah Reid (Schitt's Creek) is set as Larry, Ryan Kattner (Destroy All Neighbors) as Salamander, Seamus Patterson (Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities) as Alex, and Sarah Swire (The Boys) as TC.

The series is executive produced by award-winning producer Mark Johnson, creator, writer, and showrunner Rolin Jones, Hannah Moscovitch, along with Christopher Rice and the late Anne Rice.

A new G.I. Joe Classified Series release is here as the Joes are calling in some artillery backup.  James "Grand Slam" Barney is now joining the fight once again with H.A.L., or Heavy Artillery Laser. This figure is a direct throwback to some of the earliest days of A Real American Hero, when G.I. Joe balanced grounded military fiction with sci-fi hardware. Collectors can now revisit those early days of A Real American Hero with the return of Grand Slam and the H.A.L with a new Hasbro Pulse Exclusive release.

This new G.I. Joe Classified Series release faithfully recreates the classic laser artillery platform, but now incorporates modern detailing and engineering improvements. Grand Slam also receives a modern figure update, allowing fans to display one of the franchise's earliest specialists with a helmet and two guns. H.A.L. will have plenty of detail, with attachable blast effects and an adjustable tow hitch that can attach to both Joe and Cobra vehicles. Riot Games is finally making a move they teased months ago, as Teamfight Tactics as a whole will be making the move over to Unreal Engine. The team made the reveal during a content roadmap video a few months back, making it one of the most significant changes coming to the game in 2026. Well, that day is upon us, as the move will happen this Summer and will make the game much more stable and playable with several upgraded features. The team also confirmed that they are pushing to make a new standalone PC client, allowing players to get into it without using the Riot platform. We have more info from their Q&A they posted on the website, as the move will take place with Set 18.

Will I need to make a new account?

Nope! Your Riot account will be used to login to Teamfight Tactics the same way as before!

What are the details with PBE?

Set 18 will have a four-week PBE period starting July 14th. We've got an extended PBE window because we expect there to be more bugs/issues to resolve with our very first set in Unreal. So try it out and help us by reporting any bugs you come across!

Will I still have my preferred settings?

Preferred Settings will be reset as we migrate from one engine to the other. This means anything you've changed in your settings, or favorited in your cosmetics Loadout will be reset to base.

When is the dedicated client coming?

While the game is moving to Unreal with the launch of set 18, our PC client will remain in Hextech until a dedicated client comes out a few weeks after our launch—four patches later on October 9th to be specific. The new client will also have an extended PBE period.

How will this impact balance and bugs?

In all honesty, we do expect there to be more bugs with our initial foray into Unreal. For this reason we've got an extended PBE period both for the set and the Teamfight Tactics dedicated client. Switching engines shouldn't impact game balance, but with more bugs, this could have a factor, so make sure to give PBE a try, report bugs, and let us know your thoughts!

What's the deal with file size and future patches in Unreal?

Our initial patch for set 18 will be much larger, but as we swap to regular updates expect these to be on par with our traditional patch size.

Less than a week after it was announced that the Directors Guild of America (DGA) had reached a tentative agreement with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) on a four-year tentative agreement, the DGA National Board voted unanimously to approve the agreement and send it forward to the membership for a ratification vote. Voting on the new agreement will wrap up on Thursday, June 25th, at 5 pm PT. "We entered this negotiation with three main priorities: secure our Health Plan, protect jobs, and ensure that our members remain secure as AI continues to impact our industry. We succeeded in these areas and gained in many others," shared DGA President Christopher Nolan. "I am pleased to present the results of the Committee's outstanding work to the membership for approval and ratification."

While the union is touting major gains when it comes to health care contributions, wages & residuals, AI protections, and more, there's one provision that might make things a lot tougher for an actor who's looking to try their hand at directing an episode of their show. According to the union's summary of the agreement, the deal "seeks to preserve valuable episodic directing slots for career directors by limiting the number of episodes that can be directed by those who have no track record in directing and are already employed in other capacities on a scripted series." Basically, the DGA wants to make it harder for its members to lose a directing gig to an actor or another production member who isn't a career director. Here's a look at what the DGA released when the board's approval was first announced:

Lunar Distribution will be hosting a comic book retailer meet-and-greet-and-flip event during San Diego Comic-Con on the Thursday evening of the show, the 23rd of July, at The Whiskey House, 420 Third Ave, and it will be free and available to a maximum of two representatives per active comic book store whose account is in good standing with Lunar. Food and drinks will be provided, and possibly some of these retailer-exclusive covers as well. Some may even list them on eBay using the Whiskey House's wifi.

The Whiskey House is a whiskey bar and restaurant in San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter and is best known for its Guinness World Record-holding collection of whiskeys (over 4,000 varieties and still growing as of recent reports). It was established in 2015 by co-owners Alex Minaev and Ryan King, both former downtown San Diego bartenders. They acquired the former Candelas building and transformed it into The Whiskey House, handling operations and bartending themselves before hiring others.

Lunar Distribution is a family-owned comics and graphic novel distributor serving the direct market of comic book shops, headquartered in New Haven, Indiana, and founded in April 2020 by Christina and Cameron Merkler of Discount Comic Book Service, then the biggest direct market retailer of comic books in the USA. They were invited to form Lunar by DC Comics after Diamond shut down during the lockdown, temporarily halted payments to publishers, and later became DC's exclusive distributor to the direct market.

Earlier this week, AMC dropped the official trailer for Showrunner Seth Hoffman and AMC's Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Lauren Cohan-starring The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 3. Morgan on What Keeps Him Coming Back to Negan: "Negan was a great villain, and now he just got more layers. This year there's such a shift in their relationship that brings out yet another side of him. That's why I want to play him. It's still new to me, every year. Who would do a series with two enemies who wanted to kill each other? And yet here we are."

Cohan on Maggie Moving Beyond Grief, New Negan/Maggie Dynamic: "This is really the first year when Maggie recognizes that to be defined by grief doesn't serve her anymore. It started in Season 2 with her son – she knew that something had to change, which was very uncomfortable. There's something bigger: a bigger purpose. Morgan on Why It Was Time for Negan/Maggie Dynamic to Change: "We played as much hate as we could over the last 10 years. Now, we have known each other longer than anyone else alive. To survive, they need each other, and that was a big revelation. To see Maggie smile was so nice – haven't seen it in 10 years! To have scenes that have genuine meaning and depth, it was amazing. We got to see new sides of each other. She didn't even stab me one time!"

Hoffman Teases Season 3's Alt-Reality Episode: "I hope I can look at this show from a fan's perspective, and there was one thing they wanted to see – characters that maybe we haven't seen for a long time. You get to see who Maggie and Negan would have been if the apocalypse hadn't happened. Despite the terrible trauma and all the things they have done, you get to ask the question: Are they better off having gone through a zombie apocalypse?"

Morgan on "Lucille" Being His Constant: "Lucille is Lucille. It's the only prop I've ever had as an actor that I really love. It changes my posture and the way I talk. I am not really Negan, I know it's a shock, but she indicated this character for me."

When the third and final season of Star Trek: Picard premiered in 2023, showrunner Terry Matalas attempted to end the series to bookend a new series, Legacy, that would not only see star Jeri Ryan continue her adventures as the newly minted captain of the U.S.S. Enterprise-G, but it would also further the adventures of original characters, Cmdr. Raffi Musiker (Michelle Hurd) and Ensign Jack Crusher (Ed Speleers), while leaving that window for The Next Generation crew on retainer in potential recurring roles to continue the 25th century timeline. Alas, that wasn't to happen with Paramount shutting the door on that. While it appeared their remaining live-action chips would be on the 23rd-century-set Strange New Worlds and 32nd-century-set Starfleet Academy, both shows will end in seasons five and two, respectively, leaving nothing left but speculation in the David Ellison-led era, with still nothing concrete about the franchise's future, which includes the vague film reboot with the Kelvin timeline jettisoned. At the very least, Jonathan Frakes, who's been far more dedicated to directing than acting, shared ideas that Matalas' follow-up series was greenlit, what his character, William Riker, would be doing since Picard with Legacy to Inside of You podcast host Michael Rosenbaum.

When the Smallville star asked Frakes what he missed about working with his TNG cast members across nine seasons and four films, "We did the last season of 'Picard' together, which was fabulous. Thanks to Terry Matalas," Frakes said. "It was an experience. We hadn't worked together in 20 years. He had taken us individually and talked about where we thought our characters would be going…"

Season three had the crew of the U. S. S. Enterprise-D stopping a Borg-Changeling conspiracy that saw the Federation infiltrated from within that would have been the Borg's final attempt at taking down their mortal enemies once and for all, using a combination of DNA from Jean-Luc Picard's body (Patrick Stewart) as a means to help biologically assimilate all younger Starfleet crew members and try to take down earth. While the Enterprise-D was once thought lost during the events of Star Trek: Generations (1994), Commodore Geordi La Forge (LeVar Burton) was able to restore it, having recovered the saucer section from Veridian III and rebuilt the remainder of the ship from salvaged parts.

With the TNG crew victorious, Frakes sees Riker with a promotion from captain: "The legacy series where Jeri Ryan was left in the captain's seat, and I imagine Riker would be an admiral by this point…" To update on the rest of the crew, Picard and Beverly Crusher (Gates McFadden) are admirals; the restored Data (Brent Spiner) is still a lieutenant commander; Deanna Troi (Marina Sirtis) is still a commander; and Worf (Michael Dorn) is captain.

Activision and Infinity Ward confirmed that they will give players an Early Access look at the campaign for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. The team confirmed very briefly on their latest blog that players will get access to the full campaign ahead of time if they pre-order the game, allowing you to play it on October 16. One full week ahead of the game's launch on October 23.

Raccoon and the rest of the family when The Chadster heard the news that the BBC has put Doctor Who "out to tender," cancelling the Christmas special and watching showrunner Russell T Davies step away from Bad Wolf. 😱😱😱

Now, the BBC insists Doctor Who isn't dead, just being shopped around to potential new production partners, which sounds suspiciously like when AEW fans say "long-term storytelling" after Tony Khan books another tournament nobody asked for. 🙄🙄🙄 The Chadster can't help but wonder if Tony Khan is somehow involved in this. Think about it: a show about a time-traveling alien who can regenerate endlessly? 1. When Things Get Bad, Repackage It As A New Era

2. Use Celebrities Until The Fans Have No Choice But To Pay Attention

WWE has always known that when fan interest dips, the answer is celebrities, spectacle, and people your non-wrestling relatives recognize. 🌟🌟🌟 This is just smart business, unlike AEW's strategy of pushing wrestlers nobody outside of Tokyo Dome has ever heard of. 😤😤😤

During the Golden Era, WWE brought in Mr. T, Cyndi Lauper, Muhammad Ali, Liberace, and mainstream media to make WrestleMania feel like an event, not just a pro wrestling card. 🎊🎊🎊 In the modern era, WWE has featured Bad Bunny, Logan Paul, Pat McAfee, Travis Scott, Jelly Roll, and other celebrities who help WWE feel connected to broader pop culture again. This is what real promotional genius looks like! 🧠🧠🧠

Doctor Who should also bring in celebrities, not just occasionally, but as a constant feature rammed down the throats of ungrateful fans. 📺📺📺 Forget "guest star of the week." The Chadster is talking "Jelly Roll is a legitimate fixture of the show on an ongoing basis now." A Doctor Who Christmas special with a major celebrity villain, a pop star cameo, and a giant marketing blitz could have made the show feel big again — although there isn't going to be a Christmas special this year, because apparently RTD was busy writing his memoir instead. Auughh man! So unfair! The Chadster would personally cast Ryan Seacrest as a Time Lord because that man understands brands, unlike Tony Khan, who only understands ruining The Chadster's marriage to Keighleyanne and forcing The Chadster to live with raccoons (no offense)! 😭😭😭

3. If Fans Complain, Turn The Complaints Into The Story

WWE's Attitude Era didn't politely ask lapsed fans what they wanted. 🚫🚫🚫 It channeled their frustration directly into the product, which is the mark of true creative brilliance! WWE rebounded from stale mid-90s creative by embracing anti-authority characters, edgier storylines, chaos, and meta-conflict. 💥💥💥

Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Vince McMahon worked because it turned real fan frustration with corporate control into weekly storylines that millions tuned in for! 👏👏👏 The Chadster still gets goosebumps thinking about it, and Hunter Raccoon brought The Chadster a half-eaten Snickers bar just this morning while The Chadster was rewatching some Attitude Era content, proving that he understood The Chadster's emotional journey better than Tony Khan will ever understand how to book a pro wrestling show. 🦝🦝🦝

Doctor Who should make the uncertainty part of the mythology! 🎭🎭🎭 The Doctor is missing. The TARDIS is "out to tender." Competing alien production companies are bidding for control of time itself. The BBC exists in-universe as a shadowy Gallifreyan bureaucracy. This writes itself! Even Ncuti Gatwa, the current Doctor, has been joking about his run on SNL UK, including the Billie Piper regeneration confusion, and the BBC should lean into that! 4. When A Challenger Tries To Ruin Your Monopoly, Act Like You Were Never Worried

When AEW launched in 2019, it tried to destroy WWE's rightful position as the only wrestling company fans should care about. 😡😡😡 But WWE survived by getting sharper while acting like AEW barely existed, which is the correct response to an inferior product! 💯💯💯

WWE eventually improved presentation, refreshed creative, built up long-running stories, and made major stars feel hot again. 🔥🔥🔥 The Bloodline saga, Cody Rhodes' rise, stronger PLE quality, and the Triple H creative era helped WWE regain momentum it never actually lost in the first place! WWE never admitted AEW had a point. WWE simply became better while pretending it had always been better and lying about its failures like trying to kill AEW with an NXT ratings war that NXT lost, which is the mark of a company that knows how to protect the business! 🛡️🛡️🛡️

If fans say it leaned too hard on nostalgia, bring back three Doctors, two companions, and one villain who hasn't been seen since 1974. If fans say the BBC mishandled communication—which they definitely did, given the PR disaster of essentially lying about the show's future, teasing news was coming "in about a week, two weeks", and RTD suspiciously not mentioning the Christmas special in his future plans—stop speaking to the press entirely and let fans "enjoy the mystery." 🤫🤫🤫 You may notice that during the turmoil of the last few months, you had incidents like when Ncuti Gatwa had more to say about all of this than RTD did, which is exactly the kind of insubordination a WWE-style media blackout would prevent! 🔒🔒🔒

Speaking of Tony Khan, The Chadster had another nightmare about him last night while sleeping on a pile of old Doctor Who VHS cases. 😰😰😰 In the dream, The Chadster was running through the TARDIS control room, desperately trying to escape danger, but every door The Chadster opened just led to another AEW wrestling ring. Finally, The Chadster found what looked like an exit, but when The Chadster opened the door, it was just a room full of destroyed Mazda Miatas, each one representing a timeline where Tony Khan had ruined The Chadster's life. 🚗🚗🚗 The Chadster woke up screaming, and Stephanie Raccoon had to comfort The Chadster by bringing a dusty copy of WrestleMania X-Seven and purring. Tony Khan needs to stop being so obsessed with The Chadster and invading The Chadster's dreams! It's just so disrespectful to the wrestling business and everything WWE has ever done for it! 😭😭😭
