Lilah Sturges, The Latest Comic Creator To Tell Us She's Trans

ntsugtv1

I remember a time, not so very long ago at all, when naming examples of trans comics creators was very difficult indeed. Rachel Pollack from Doom Patrol, Jeffrey Catherine Jones… and that was it.

Today, it's becoming… less uncommon. And latest to join the throng is Lilah Sturges.

Best known for her series Jack of Fables for Vertigo, she worked considerably with Bill Willingham, as well as co-writing House Of Mystery and Justice Society Of America with him. She also wrote for the New 52 Blue Beetle, wrote the Thor: Season One original graphic novel and has a series of novels to her name, Midwinter,  its sequel The Office of Shadows and Beneath the Skin and Other Stories (2000). She's also working on the Public Relations comic, wrote the Four Norseman Of The Apocalypse graphic novel and is working on a new video game.

She posted about this change in the way people may perceive her to Facebook.

Support was swift and fast from comic industry folk.

Another DC editor had a most practical thought…

Overall, the announcement to have gone down very well. She writes,

I don't doubt it…
