a-d-_after_death_comicSony has optioned the film rights to Scott Snyder and Jeff Lemire's comic series A.D.: After Death. The first issue of the Image Comic series just hit stores last month.

The three-issue series tells of a future where aging has been cured. Taking death by old age off the table, changes society. The story centers on mans frustration over his never-ending life. It's a mixed media comic, sequential and painted art with sections of prose.

Snyder has been working on Batman for the last five years receiving high praise while Lemire is a writer and artist doing his own books like Essex Country and Sweet Tooth while working for Marvel and Valiant as well.

Josh Bratman, who worked on Priest and Fright Night, is attached to produce the adaptation. Snyder and Lemire will serve as executive producers.
