Tomb Raider Producer Says Film Will Focus On Lara's Search For Her Father
Knowing that the rebooted Tomb Raider film is going to be loosely based on the 2013 game gives me confidence in the production. While the game certainly had faults, its a great blueprint for a modern take on the character.
Speaking to Hey U Guys, producer Graham King revealed a little more on what to expect from the film. He talked about how Lara Croft's journey will be focused on her father, which has been a big part of the last two games too.
He said:
This is kind of what we call a back to the roots story. This is a young Lara Croft in search to see if her father is dead or alive, so it has a very emotional part to it and I think that's what Alicia found so interesting about it.
I think the storytelling is really good and I think we've got the right crew and a great director.
I think a lot of the pieces are coming together for this, and I'm hoping it really does. It has a real chance at being good. Let's hope it happens.
