Third Worst Tragedy In Franchise History Befalls Crow Remake

thecrowSince 2009, Relativity Media has been trying to produce a remake of The Crow, the 1994 film starring Brandon Lee based on the comic by James O'Barr. Recently, the film got as far as reportedly signing Khal Aquaman himself, Jason Momoa to star in it. However, a report yesterday from THR reveals that the film rights have left Relativity Media, which recently survived a bankruptcy. Samuel Hadida's Davis Films, Highland Film Group and Electric Shadow have acquired the rights instead, but they may lose Momoa and have to start over. Original film producer Edward R. Pressman will return to produce the remake, which is reported to be a faithful adaptation of the comic.

This is the third worst tragedy to befall The Crow franchise, the first obviously being the death of Brandon Lee while filming the original movie. The sequel, The Crow: City of Angels, is the second worst tragedy, with a 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Admittedly, losing Jason Momoa is a very distant third, but it ranks as the third worst nonetheless.

The movie, now titled "The Crow: Reborn," is expected to begin filming in 2017.
