Walking Dead Will Shamble Into Arcades In January With Crossbow Shooter

walkingdeadflyerThe next Walking Dead game won't be a Telltale point-and-click adventure, and it won't be a mobile game either. The popular zombie franchise is instead reanimating a classic model: the arcade shooter. In the style of classic on-rails shooters like the Time Crisis series, The Walking Dead game will use a crossbow styled light gun and comes in a gorgeous environmental cabinet that should make the experience of endlessly slaughtering zombies pretty damn immersive. The only problem is, to play this game, you'll actually have to leave the house and go to a video arcade… which assumes you have one within a 500 mile radius of your home, and which also assumes you're willing to leave your house. It's a scary world out there.

If you are able to make it to an arcade, however, the game looks like a lot of fun. Check out the flyer from game makers Raw Thrills and Play Mechanix, and then check out a trailer below.

The Walking Dead will be coming to your local video arcade… uh, if you have one… in January.
