Laid Off By Hastings? Open A Comic Store…

Thirty-five year old Darren Hutchinson used to be a comics and collectibles buyer for Hastings.

We all know what happened there.

Six weeks ago, he was laid off, as the company went into bankruptcy.

And in just a few weeks later, he will unveil Unknown Comics at 1712 S.E. 14th Ave, Amirillo. And it should look slightly familiar.

He told Amarillo Global News that "We purchased a bunch of the fixtures from Hastings for comic books". That he had 500 to 1000 regular Wednesday customers at the Amarillo Hastings. And he's looking to give them – and more – a home.

Especially since he's launching with a rather large discount offer, a pull list with 35% off the retail price.

And he's kicking it off with a Champions #1 exclusive variant cover by my good acquaintance Mike Perkins.
