Adam Hughes' Supergirl #1 Variant – Not Looking That Invulnerable…

IMG_20160818_144433961M&M Comics saw the recent Bleeding Cool post in which Dennis Barger attended the Diamond Retailer Summit in Baltimore with a Diamond box of damaged comics to highlight the issues he is having with damages, week in, week out.

So they felt inspired to share their own tale of woe this week.

Here's an example of some of the copies we received of Supergirl Rebirth #1 Hughes variant. We received hundreds of copies – every one was damaged in some way. We pick up our weekly comics at a FedEx hub and they do not go through the rigors of UPS shipping. This is how they came directly from Diamond. Not one copy would have graded even a f/vf with most just garbage. And of course replacements were not available.

We do occasionally receive packages shipped UPS and EVERY time they look like they were dragged down the street before they are delivered. Many times they are ripped open and completely crushed. Without a doubt if we had to rely on UPS as our only means of delivery we would be out of business. So we are NOT giving them a passing grade. Just wanted to show that if stores have to deal with damages directly from Diamond and UPS's terrible handling they are truly in a bad situation.
